I’ve seen the trailer and their reading script. so many kdramas that recreate mangas are never true to the plot and they end up messing up the story line.I have watched this drama but the Japanese version and I have read the manga and I really have high expectations I really hope that they portray everything well and don’t emphasis a romance because romance is not that big in this drama October 5th, 2014 at 11:25 I believe that JDRamas have way better plots than Kdramas its not always about a romance or one crazy disease for people to fall in love, its about suspense comedy trueness.
If you are a true manga and J drama fan you understand why it is only 12 eps.this drama is not meant to be a romancey drama….!! I think this will be a very interesting drama but why just only 12 episodes? The acting is very good in both dramas.Broadcast period: 2014-Oct-20 to 2014-Nov-25īased on the manga series “ Liar Game“ by Shinobu Kaitani which was first published on 2005 in Japanese magazine ‘ Weekly Young Jump‘. Japanese main girl seems a lot more innocent and naive, as opposed to the Korean girl who seemed more realistic **potential spoiler alert- as she hesitated for awhile about giving the money to the teacher. The first game was the same for both dramas. The Japanese drama had more visual instructions. 
I found that the game instructions weren't as clear in the Korean version. The antagonist wears a mask which gives the show more suspense. (side note: the main guy wears a really ugly wig for a couple of episodes). JDRAMA- competition hosted by rich people to see who the best liar is. Another major difference is that the male lead looks considerably older in the Korean version. KDRAMA - portrayed the game as a variety show which made the show not as suspenseful as the Japanese drama. There was no romance in the Japanese drama, but there were little hints of the two leads liking each other. ROMANCE - it looks like there will be more romance in the Korean drama. These are of my own opinion and are based on the first two episodes I've watched of the Korean drama. I listed some things I noticed about the Korean drama and compared it to the Japanese drama. Liar Game was originally a manga that was released in 2005, which then was adapted into a Japanese drama in 2007 and had a season two in 2009 as well as a movie in 2010.
